Jeff Bridgforth:

A front-end developer is the one that makes the design come alive. He or she is the person responsible for bringing the creative vision of the designer into being through code and can even push the design further by adding the interactivity or animation layer that the designer may not have even thought of.

Think like a front-end developer

I still think like Jeff, despite the term front-end developer having expanded to also include “Write Prisma migration to include referrer URL in users database table, then update GraphQL API to validate and accept a referrerURL value in the auth Mutation, then update <UserAuth /> component to determine this value and pass it to the API from a hidden input field. Then build an admin dashboard to visualize the collected data and use AI to analyze trends.”

Thoughts? Email me or comment below. Also CodePen PRO is quite a deal. 🙏

  1. This is beautiful, i need to sticky note it. We keep forgetting our main role as frontend. And easily overlap into other areas which aren’t intended for, wasting unnecessarily time on effort rather than having more impact on current domain.

“Front-end developer should only do what only Front-end developer can do.”
