Over the last few months I watched…

• The Terminal List — Andy Dwyer from Parks and Recreation is a Navy SEAL who makes absolutely zero jokes and accidentally lived through a mission that was set up for his whole squad to die, then even worse stuff happens. So he’s pretty mad, and kills everybody involved, which he can do because… Navy SEAL. It was relatively satisfying in that “I have a particular set of skills” Taken style, but I don’t really care if they keep going.
• True Detective, Season 4 — Kali Reis and Jodie Foster were excellent and the story, as bizarre as the details were, actually wrapped up pretty neatly and I was there for for those remote Alaska vibes. Just can’t beat that Season 1.
• The Sinner, Season 1 and 2 — In each season, a murder happens that is pretty unusual but the guilty seems straightforward on the surface. Then Bill Pullman gets involved and digs and digs at it until the full story is revealed. While I thought Bill Pullman was unmemorable and the plot holes were gaping, I still mostly enjoyed the ride. I think I’ll bail on the next two seasons though.

They were all kinda dark. I’m starting the Bear Season 3 now and we’ll see if I can take it. I might need something a little funnier or lighter or something for a while.
