Listen to the radio on your computer

I’ve just heard of Triode, just gone v2, which is Iconfactory’s app for listening to “internet” radio.

I’m playing with it, and it’s fun! I guess I never really thought about how there are an absolute shitload of constantly broadcasting radio stations over the internet you can listen to for free at anytime. CarPlay, AppleTV, and Widgets support too, pretty slick. Seems like more fun than paying for SiriusXM.

What shows are in it’s directory? I have no idea really, but it seems like it’s a smaller catalog than this next masterpiece of a website: radio.garden. Have you seen this? You can instantly listen to any of thousands of stations all over the world.

Wanna listen to what’s on 100.1 on Kodiak island in Alaska? I do! There are five of our stations from Bend on here. That’s awfully fun. 40,000+ stations they say in their About blurb, and it’s all just free. What a way to feel connected to the world. ๏“ป ๏งก

Looks cool. If you like that check out Ionica. Similar looking SoundCloud/Winamp-type thing.

Also check out Broadcasts by Steven Troughton-Smith!
