I can’t believe this. It’s 2013! We’re still dealing with this?
Stating the current year is this strange phenomenon in writing. I bet I read it every single day somewhere. I believe it is meant to convey that said problem has been around too long. Or like “it’s the future now and my understanding is that things would be different.” It never reads like that to me though. It reads to me like they are just stating a random fact in the middle of the sentence.
I can’t believe this. Paul Fusco was the voice of ALF! We’re still dealing with this?
