Firefox, Google Gears Problem Solved

After months of being annoyed, Jeremy Synder left a comment on my original cry for help post that fixed the problem for me.

I think maybe at some point in the past, I visited the Google Gears page and “disallowed” or “blocked” the installation somehow. Then anytime I went back to gears.google.com, I wasn’t being show then option to “allow” it. That is, until I went to the actual direct installation file:

http://dl.google.com/gears/current/gears-osx-opt.xpi

From that URL, I was a able to “allow” its complete installation and get rid of those damn warnings!
