Fixing Media Temple + Coda Slow Uploads

And when I saw “slow”, I don’t mean like “takes twice as long as you might expect”, I mean like “two minutes per tiny little 2k image”.

I asked the Twitter hive-mind and totally got a fix that seems to be working:

Media Temple + Coda workaround: set Coda to SFTP in the sites prefs and enable SSH on MT!

So far, so good! And, really, I should have been using SFTP all along for such an important server.

I’m on Media Temple and noticed this… thanks. What service are you on btw. I’m on the Grid Servers (gs) :P

I’m on the grid too. Seems to work great for me. CSS-Tricks is on there plus maybe 25 other sites all on the same account. I do have an upgraded MySQL container though.

  3. I am using MT’s (dv) hosting. This also worked for me. Thanks.
