I got kinda into how you can make and control a triangle with conic-gradient().

I thought about things that have happened in CSS in 2025 and what I think you should probably know.
Then I blogged it on @FrontendMasters.

It’s not *everything* — it’s my own curated list.
Gonna fiddle (on a stream) of making my own opinionated CSS reset.
Gonna stream in a little bit. (Probably) looking at the neat new package support in the CodePen 2.0 (Private Beta) via import maps.
(I’m told a few minutes heads up is helpful.)
webhooks rule. webhooks say “we embrace the internet outside of our walls”

Where all them tech companies with super chill founders who just wanna make something useful and do right by people?
(Leans against the CodePen billboard.)

Yo @Clarity_conf is coming up in like 5 weeks.
This is the OG design systems conference. @jina rocks this thing, indie style.
Early bird pricing ends soon.
This is very cool to me. I’m excited about Frostapalooza anyway, and now there will be visualizations shown during the show that start life as a Pen.

I had no idea `innerText` had the overhead of checking to see if the element was visible or not yet. 😳 x.com/1Marc/status/1…

Watched through this finally. So good. Like a future version of humans crash landed on extremely richly alien planet and need to survive in different ways. Little horrorish but tempered by the fact it’s animated (for babies like me) x.com/desandro/statu…
@syntaxfm did I catch a reference in a show (last few months?) where the “Import Cost” VS Code plugin was the source of a battery train? Or did I hallucinate that?

The fact that you can get anywhere near the game of Wordle with 43 lines of HTML and 63 lines of CSS is a wonderful showcase of power they have.

Chrome!!
This is killing me. So many users frustrated. Our <iframe> permissions just don’t seem to work anymore, even though they are set like they always have been.

Feels like we need a few years for the latest CSS to settle in and become part of regular usage. Even if you *know* about the stuff, it takes time to build the muscle memory around it.
Thinking of :has, scope, layer, colors, scrolling stuff, popovers, container units, etc.
yeah totally caught me off guard when the version of Chrome shipped where the native scrollbar-* properties overrode the ::-webkit-* ones. x.com/aLazyArtist/st…
i would like to say that codepen does not want to “track” anyones “hands” lol x.com/leemartin/stat…
@typescript that’s a typo in the docs isn’t it? Should be `substr` ?
@cdnjs A smidge weird (has caused some confusion) how `react-is` is a higher result than `react`.
Any way to re-arrange that?
Is this a product that exists? A video game controller stand where you plug it in once and all the holders have USB-C cables for plugging them in?
“Quantity Queries” are very easy in CSS now that we have :has().
You can just check if an element, for example, has a 10th child, like `.el:has(:nth-child(10))`, and now you know there are *at least* 10 children. Trivial.
