Mr. Kottke is taking a break!
The plan, as it currently stands, is to take 5-6 months away from the site. I will not be posting anything new here. I won’t be publishing the newsletter. There won’t be a guest editor either — if someone else was publishing here, it would still be on my mind and I’m looking for total awayness here.
Dare I say most interesting things that I read in any given week are from Jason. That’s been true for as many years as I’ve been reading blogs. My usual reaction is my god where does he find this stuff?
I’m very glad that he’s been able to find a way to make that a career for as long as he has.
kottke.org would not be possible today without the incredible membership support I have gotten from the people who read this site. Members have enabled this site to be free for everyone to read, enriching the open web and bucking the trend towards paywalling information online. I hope you will continue to support me in taking this necessary time off.
A sabbatical is well deserved, and whatever happens after that happens. Best of luck Jason. I’ve upped my membership support in the meantime.
