I watched The Alpinist on a whim a few nights ago.
I was pretty affected by it.
Not so much by Marc-André Leclerc‘s death. That’s sad, but hey, you make the choice to do incredibly dangerous stuff, you are probably going to die from it. There was a bit in the movie that 50% of alpinists do.
What got me was Marc himself. He so clearly lived and experienced life 100% on his own terms. It wasn’t so much what he was doing but how he was doing it. So few people are like that. I’m nowhere even close, and the effecting part is… is that for better or worse?
