The chances of macOS actually running an automatic update on my machines is super low. Even if I OK the “Update Tonight?” prompt, there is no way it actually goes through, because I’ll have apps open that prevent the restart. iTerm is a big one, that one won’t just quit on command. But even tabs with unsaved changes in a document (WordPress, CodePen, etc) will prevent the browser from quitting.

I screenshot this because I’d never seen that prompt before and it seems like a nice reminder for macOS to let you know:

I’m not going to, ya know, actually do it probably, but I should.
