Here’s a collection of neat things that I bookmarked throughout the year that I thought might make nice gifts. Maybe this will spark some ideas for you. None of these are affiliate links or anything, not that I’m above that 🤔.

Crokinole
Crokinole is a wooden dexterity game that is a lot like curling. It doesn’t have the long strip of ice and is played on a wood target with little wooden discs. The objective is to take turns flicking your discs into the center hole as much as possible. If your opponent’s disc doesn’t make it to the middle hole, you must shoot them off first. That’s where it gets tricky!
They love it in Canada, I’m told. I’ve never played but I love stuff like this.

Metal Poster: The Great Wave of Coffee
I saw this on an Instagram ad, so be a little wary of quality. Main thought: more people should put cool prints in their kitchen.

Titanium Link Bracelet Band for Apple Watch (Ultra)
I know someone who has and loves this band for the Ultra and I wish I had it for mine. But the general idea is: anybody with an Apple Watch probably would enjoy a fresh band.

Wolfum Handcrafted Wooden Travel Backgammon
Backgammon is fun for all ages. It’s just cooler than checkers and has more game tension and drama per game.

Screwdriver Ring
My favorite of the little gifts in Simone Giertz’s store, although I think the new Kickstarter for “Coat Hingers” is also extremely cool.

Julia Smith: Gold Moon and Tree Mug
I don’t like the idea of having every coffee cup in your cupboard being the same. They should all be different!

teenage engineering choir
They are expensive even individually (and sold out), but it would be extremely cool to have the set one day.

Waffle Bath Towel
I figure people use a towel approximately once a day their entire life, they might as well like it.

Tripster
I like a chair that feels really strong. These look strong. And look like they pack down really small and are easy to carry.

Predictive Thermometer & Display
I’m sold on the idea that it tells you how much longer under the hunk of meat is ready to come off the grill, and doesn’t bunk it up by you placing the stick in too far.

Loopy Lou
I’ve got two of these and they are just plain fun. Press a button to record, then you can loop it as it plays back out while changing the speed and pitch and stuff (they sell variations).

Laura Fischer: duo no. 56
These look all sold out but you could do a commission. Such a simple but beautiful idea.

Megan Marie Myers
Local Bend artist with a super wholefun and fun style. Her work is absolutely everywhere in Bend but I haven’t seen it much elsewhere. Posters, calendars, books, prints, etc.
Also CodePen PRO duh.

Dude where did you learn about Crokinole?! It is a fun game, I didn’t think anyone outside of my corner of the world (Southern Ontario) knew about it though :).
I mean it took me 43 years to hear of it so I think the secret is still decently safe ;)
