It’s the first official Croqueta Day, I hear. My short time living in Miami left me a big fan. Some call them deep fried bechamel, I call them Ham Blasters.
Every time I’d go to a restaurant that wanted to do their unique take on a croqueta, it was disappointing. I don’t want to celebrate with a flight of the regions fanciest croquetas. Spare me your chicken fricasé; I’m a miss on mozzarella and manchego; I yawn at your bacalao and crab; Pass on pork and mojo sofrito.
I want to celebrate with the best, which are obviously:
- Straight out of the fridge Publix ham blasters
- Called ahead at 7-Eleven ham blasters
- Wow this flight has croquettes? ham blasters
- Thank god they didn’t overdo it despite these white tablecloths ham blasters
Also I designed these billboards for Publix and emailed them to them in 2019 but I never heard back for some reason.
