Things I Never Cheap Out On

I saw this on Amy Mahon’s blog and thought it should become a meme.

  • Bread
  • Computer, photography, other tech equipment
  • Software and services
  • Camping equipment
  • Auto repairs
  • Musical instruments and accessories
  • Framing
  • Toilet Paper
  • Scotch
  • Christmas

Extending things a bit…

Things I DO Cheap Out On

That I feel guilty about:

  • Flights / Travel
  • Groceries
  • Anything that goes in my bathroom other than toilet paper
  • Pens
  • Clothes

That I do on purpose:

  • Furniture

Comments

  1. I see toilet paper on both lists. While I do have my standards (2-ply with some degree of softness), my current value choice is the 500-sheet*36 rolls from Costco.

  2. Dean says:

I gave this a go. I had trouble thinking of more than a few things for the list that I do cheap out on.

One point of difference is that I never feel guilty about cheaping out on anything. Money is a scarce resource.

  3. Pat says:

Scotch, always a good thing not to cheap out on.

  4. Albert Filice says:

Scotch tastes like I’m drinking dust, but then again I’ve never had good scotch.

I tend to cheap out on things that can perform just as well when cheaper but not on something where price noticeably effects quality.

  5. Laura says:

Yes. Never cheap out on toliet paper!

The one thing I will never cheap out on is soda. Always have to have the name brand, Coke or Mt. Dew.

  6. Keith Smith says:

I used to say I NEVER cheap out on Beer. I am a Guinness man, always have been and always will be. After my second daughter was orn, sigh, I now drink Coors Light…just cause its cheaper…dangit!

  7. Excellent web page, I just came across it and I’m already a fan. I just lost 30 pounds in thirty days, and I am excited to share my weight loss success with as numerous folks as possible. If I can lose the weight then any just one can. Whatever you do, never give up and you’ll attain all your weight loss goals!
